Mayor Karl Dean First Pitch

Saturday, May 3, 2014

On April 30, the Sounds swept a doubleheader against the New Orleans Zephyrs, and among those in attendance was Nashville Mayor Karl Dean, who threw out his annual Ceremonial First Pitch prior to Game 2.

Mayor Dean was also kind enough to join Sounds broadcaster Jeff Hem in the booth during the 2nd inning. The two talked about the Mayor's deep-rooted love for the game of baseball; the 37th and final year at Greer Stadium for the Sounds; the excitement and vision he has for the Sounds’ new ballpark, First Tennessee Park, and what it will mean to north Nashville when it opens in 2015; and the excitement level for the new ballpark that he’s seen from folks around town.
